The Leader In Me program takes the principles of Dr. Stephen Covey’s best selling book, “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” and integrates them into the elementary school curriculum. The Leader In Me is designed to be assimilated into the school’s everyday language and culture, so that it isn’t “one more thing” that teachers and administrators have to do. The Leader In Me program benefits schools and students in the following ways, listed on the right:
• Develops students who have the skills and self confidence to succeed as leaders.
• Decreases discipline referrals.
• Improves academic achievement.
• Teaches and develops character and leadership through existing core curriculum.
• Raises levels of accountability and engagement among both parents and staff.
Through the seven habits, students learn the skills needed to be successful not only in school, but also in the workplace. These skills include leadership, accountability, adaptability, initiative and self-direction, cross-cultural skills, responsibility, problem solving, communication, creativity, teamwork and much more. The program builds students’ confidence and interpersonal skills, making them powerful collaborators and communicators. The skills learned through The Leader In Me are all highly sought after in today’s competitive workplace.
The Leader In Me has been implemented in hundreds of school districts around the country and the world with outstanding success. Click here to access a Franklin Covey research document showing statistics supporting the success of The Leader In Me……
