Leadership Central Penn (LCP) began in 1993. The Chamber Foundation is looking for up to 20 people from the area to participate in the
2013-14 Leadership Central Penn program. This program seeks to educate citizens from Columbia and Montour counties for more effective business, community and organizational leadership. Local businesses and non-profit organizations can nominate and sponsor those employees who exhibit leadership potential. Individuals are also encouraged to apply. The cost per participant will be $895.

The program begins with a 2 day retreat in September at the Inn at Pocono Manor. Bloomsburg University’s Quest program will provide team building exercises and leadership training at the retreat. LCP continues to meet for one full day on the 3rd Thursday of each month from October through May to discuss a variety of relevant topics such as, listed to the right:

  • Education
• Health Care
• Legal Issues
• Cultural Diversity
• Community Trusteeship
• Public Relations & the Media
• Economic Development
• Local Government

A steering committee for LCP is currently working to build next year’s program. Timelines and detailed program information will be forthcoming.
